There’s nothing quite like seeing your newborn baby for the very first time. It’s amazing and beautiful and something you’ll never forget. But these babies grow and change and develop at an incredibly fast pace… particularly in the first year. While you’ll never forget those first moments, their subtle daily changes add up and tend to pass by unnoticed. Professional newborn photography is a fantastic way to capture your new addition and to celebrate your growing family at this life changing moment in time. Once you have the pictures taken, you can enjoy them day after day in your home and the will memory never fade. I offer three different options for photographing your newborn. Each varies in price and inclusions. You can learn more about the different options and see detailed pricing here: https://www.laurajanicekphotography.com/newborn-session-style/.
The Complete Newborn session is the longest and most inclusive option for photographing your newborn. The Complete Newborn not only includes a variety of pictures of your baby, but also captures the rest of your immediate family as well. This is particularly great for families with older siblings. It’s often nearly impossible for parents to capture well-posed, well-lit… smiling and happy (lol!) pictures of your babies together at home. (I’m not saying it’s impossible… but it can definitely be a struggle!!) In the studio, we work quickly and efficiently to get as much out of the toddler as possible before they eventually get tired and the novelty of the situation wears off. 😉
I understand that it may seem like an incredible undertaking to get yourself cleaned up, dressed and picture ready just days after delivery while caring for an up-around-the-clock newborn. You probably won’t feel your absolute best a week postpartum and there’s a good chance your toddler/ significant other won’t be super excited about a scheduled photo shoot either. 😉 I totally understand. This is typically be a ‘just getting by’ period of time for the entire family. BUT…As a mom to four older children (getting older with each passing day), I have to say that it is 1000% worth the effort, the cost and whatever bribes need to be given out on the day of your photo shoot! Michael J Fox once said “pain is temporary, film is forever”. While he was referring to TV and movies, the same concept certainly applies here. These pictures will stay with you through the toddler years, elementary, middle and high school years, through your child’s wedding day and well beyond. It’s hard to believe that all of these “future” things will ever take place. That your baby will ever not be a baby. It’s hard to believe that you’ll ever forget what he or she looked like in those first few days of life. But trust me, it can be a blur.
The phrase “the days are long, but the years are short” could not be more true. Time is fleeting. And to capture it well, you have to make an effort. All you have to do is get yourself together and get to the studio. I’ll make sure you’re well prepared and understand what to expect before your session and I’ll take care of everything once you arrive. You can do it!!
Like everything else in life, some things are just ‘worth it’. I can’t think of anything more ‘worth it’ than being able to look back at beautiful pictures of the most precious and important people in your life. 🙂
